That’s a Talking Heads reference. Yes, I know I found a job back in December but this week I finally got down to brass tacks. And, like most jobs out there, it’s not that interesting (at least to write about). That’s why I tell people I meet here that I am an astronaut-cowboy-millionaire. The most interesting event at work this week happened hundreds of miles away. I’m talking about the earthquake in Sumatra on Monday. About half an hour after it happened I was treated to a little wobble in my cubicle as the shock traveled all the way to Singapore. It was so small most people didn’t even notice it. Yes, that was the most exciting thing that happened at work this week. Hopefully, I will be able to close a deal or two this week so I have a good excuse to celebrate and something to write about.
I finally got my first paycheck last week too which was a big one because I was also getting reembursed for my flight over. So now that I have some extra walking around money hopefully I can start living a life worth writing about, because not much went on this week. I’m going to try and make a fun purchase or go some place exciting so I can take some pictures and have some material. I did eat a lot of Taiwanese food this week, which like almost everything else out here, was delicious.
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well and next week I’m going to try and come up with a list of pros and cons to commemorate the one month mark.
