Bill: I kept thinking on Friday that I was already a day late-if I sent you a message--so my excuse for not sending this until Sunday our calendar/time--2 days late. Thank you for your Postcard. I have a great seamstress who came from Vietnam, many years ago. I know that she'll enjoy seeing it. Keep moving around and making the most of your -- what word should I use. I guess it could be adventure. Hope you received our standard card and $ in your account.
Lotsa love, B&G

Billy: Not sure whether this is the way, that I replied to you before--but here I go--July 5th- damp, and not sunny, but nothing to be done about that. Yesterday was very nice. Fred, Joan & "the 5 Quincies" have been on Cape for the last 2 weeks, which is always fun.
Your Dad's cousin Chuck, with Jen and 3 of the 4 children stopped by yesterday on their way to Martha's Vineyard. Jen's parents have a home there. Her Dad, Tom McCarthy is a Yale professor.
One of the great things about the summer, there are always things going on, here on Cape Cod. This coming week Kev, Em and their (now) 3 children are coming from Santa Monica. Next Sat. there will be a party after Baby Claire'a baptism.
That's about all the news, I have a new thing that seems to be generally, well received, little pumpkin whoopie pies.
It certainly sounds as though your years in training for Asian cuisines is being well rewarded--who knew??
I don't think the pumpkin whoopie pies are up to trans-Pacific travel. Enough for now. Lotsa love GG & Bu2

Bill: We just had a great time with your parents-a mini journey to Martha's Vineyard, for Chuck Doyle's wedding. I have to stop and figure out the relationship. Your Dad's cousin.
I have just forwarded your blog to your Uncle Tom. The only other member of "our" family who I am aware has been to Singapore. But for no where near as long as your stay there.
All is well here on Cape Cod. We've had a busy month or six weeks, back and forth to NYC, for Confirmations First Communions, Bu went to a dinner there for Cousy with your Dad--I skipped that trip. Then graduations Ali in Greenwich, Meghan in Worcester, within 18 hours of each other. Bu's 60th at HC overlapped with the wedding on Martha's Vineyard. It's good to keep moving.
Stay well-ENJOY and keep us all updated. Your blog is VERY much enjoyed. Lots of love, GG

Hey Billy! Glad to see you're enjoying SE Asia and I am really excited to join you over there in a couple of weeks. I also really love the blog, I wrote one myself while in Hangzhou (the website listed above) and I look back on it now with fondness.

Thanks for the Facebook message a few weeks back and we definitely need to get together for a few cold ones at some point while we're boh on the other side of the world.

I agree with Ginger, What an adventure. Viet Nam was such a huge part of my generation's early adulthood. Later, when my girls were young I taught English at Digital to several Viet Namese refugees . One had been an officer in the military and a young women had a horrifying time with pirates. It amazes me that you are able to travel there as a tourist,. Be careful, soak up the culture and take care. God Bless Connie
